2. About ARTEFACT
ARTEFACT is a small independent detectorist streetwear brand built around real finds, real places, hidden history, and field culture.
ARTEFACT products are designed as original apparel concepts. Many designs are inspired by real recorded finds, historical objects, field culture, and publicly available artefact records.
ARTEFACT is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or officially connected to the Portable Antiquities Scheme, museums, councils, rights holders, record holders, or other source organisations, unless clearly stated otherwise.
3. Online store platform
This online store is hosted on Shopify, which provides the e-commerce platform that allows ARTEFACT to sell products and services to customers.
Shopify may process certain data and transactions in connection with the operation of the store, checkout, payments, and related services, subject to Shopify’s own terms and policies.

5. Products and product information
ARTEFACT makes reasonable efforts to present product information, images, descriptions, prices, sizes, colours, and availability accurately.
However, small differences may occur between product images and the physical product due to screen settings, lighting, garment colour variation, production processes, fabric differences, and print methods.
Product measurements may vary by up to 2" (5 cm), as explained in the size guide.
Some colour, size, or product combinations may become unavailable due to stock, fulfilment, or supplier changes.
ARTEFACT may update, change, replace, or discontinue products, designs, descriptions, prices, images, collections, or availability at any time without prior notice.
6. Made-to-order production
Most ARTEFACT products are made to order.
This means your item is printed after your order is placed. Made-to-order production helps reduce unnecessary stock and allows ARTEFACT to offer focused designs without mass-producing garments in advance.
Production time is separate from shipping time. More information is available in our Shipping Policy.
7. Orders and order acceptance
After you place an order, you may receive an order confirmation email. This confirms that your order has been received.
ARTEFACT reserves the right to refuse, cancel, or limit any order where necessary, including but not limited to cases involving:
- suspected fraud
- payment issues
- incorrect pricing or product information
- stock or fulfilment problems
- incorrect or incomplete customer information
- violation of these Terms of Service
If an order is cancelled after payment has been taken, a refund will be issued where applicable.
8. Prices, taxes, and payments
Product prices are shown on the website in the store currency or in the currency displayed to you through the store or payment provider.
Prices may be subject to taxes, VAT, shipping costs, duties, or other charges depending on your location and the checkout settings.

9. Shipping and delivery
Shipping and delivery are governed by our Shipping Policy.
Because most ARTEFACT products are made to order, the estimated delivery time includes both production time and shipping time.
Delivery times are estimates and are not guaranteed unless explicitly stated otherwise.
ARTEFACT is not responsible for delays caused by shipping carriers, customs authorities, incorrect addresses, missed delivery attempts, weather disruption, peak seasons, or other events outside our reasonable control.
10. Returns, refunds, exchanges, and damaged items
Returns, refunds, exchanges, damaged items, misprints, incorrect items, and lost orders are governed by our Return & Refund Policy.
Because ARTEFACT products are made to order, returns or exchanges for change of mind, wrong size, or wrong colour may be limited unless required by applicable law.
Your statutory rights are not affected.
11. Consumer rights
Nothing in these Terms of Service is intended to limit or exclude rights that cannot be limited or excluded under applicable consumer law.
If you are a consumer, you may have statutory rights relating to cancellation, withdrawal, faulty goods, goods not as described, refunds, repairs, replacements, or other remedies under applicable law.
These Terms must be read together with the Shipping Policy and Return & Refund Policy.
12. Intellectual property
All ARTEFACT designs, layouts, edited artwork, product concepts, brand elements, logos, text, photography, product descriptions, collection descriptions, and website content are owned by ARTEFACT or used under licence or applicable permission, unless stated otherwise.
You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, modify, resell, upload, print, use commercially, or create derivative works from ARTEFACT designs or website content without written permission.
Purchasing an ARTEFACT product does not give you ownership of the design, artwork, layout, brand identity, or intellectual property used on that product.
13. Artefact sources, attribution, and licences
Some ARTEFACT designs use or are inspired by images, records, or artefact information made available under open licences or public records.
Where relevant, source, attribution, rights holder, and licence information is included on the product page.
Attribution is provided for credit and legal clarity. It does not mean that the Portable Antiquities Scheme, museums, councils, rights holders, record holders, or any other source organisation endorses ARTEFACT or its products.
ARTEFACT’s edited layouts, design compositions, typography, visual treatments, product concepts, and brand presentation remain original creative work of ARTEFACT, unless stated otherwise.
14. User content, reviews, and submissions
If you submit content to ARTEFACT, such as reviews, photos, comments, messages, feedback, or ideas, you confirm that you have the right to submit that content.
You agree that ARTEFACT may use customer feedback, reviews, or comments for store improvement, customer support, marketing, or product development, unless you clearly request otherwise or applicable law requires otherwise.
You must not submit content that is unlawful, abusive, misleading, defamatory, infringing, offensive, or harmful.
