THE STORY BEHIND THE FIND
This cast copper-alloy brooch dates to c. 300–200 BC and belongs to the La Tène II tradition of the Iron Age. It is further classified as a Hull and Hawkes Type 2B brooch. The design features an openwork circular centre with a wheel or cross motif, projecting terminals, and a distinctive sculptural form typical of later prehistoric metalwork from Britain.
