THE STORY BEHIND THE FIND
This cast copper-alloy strap fitting dates to c. 100 BC–AD 100. It is described as a strap-union or belt-link, with side bars where leather straps would once have been attached. The front is formed from three joined discs, each decorated with a rudimentary triskele of spirals, giving the object a strong connection to late Iron Age decorative traditions.
