THE STORY BEHIND THE FIND
This small solid gold penannular ring dates to c. 1150–800 BC and is decorated with fine narrow banding that would originally have appeared as alternating stripes of yellow and paler, silver-rich gold. The terminals are flat, and the ring has a sub-circular cross section. Finds of this type are characteristic Late Bronze Age ornaments and are associated with high-status personal adornment.
