A genuine Bronze Age gold penannular ring from Calbourne, Isle of Wight, England, recorded by the UK Portable Antiquities Scheme.

THE STORY BEHIND THE FIND
This gold penannular ring dates to Bronze Age Britain, between 1150 BC and 750 BC.
Recorded as Treasure case 2009T682, it represents the kind of small but powerful object that makes metal detecting feel connected to something far older than the modern field.
Gold survives differently from most metals. It does not corrode in the same way as copper-alloy or iron, so even after thousands of years in the ground, it can still carry a quiet brightness — a fragment of the Bronze Age brought back into view.
