THE STORY BEHIND THE FIND
This gold penannular ring dates to the Late Bronze Age, c. 1150–800 BC.

The PAS record describes it as a small gold penannular ring with decorative banding in narrow stripes. These bands would originally have shown as alternating tones of yellow gold and paler, silver-rich gold, creating a striking striped surface.

Found in Osmington, Dorset, this object is a small but powerful survival from Bronze Age Britain — a piece of ancient gold, lost in the landscape and later recovered by a modern detectorist.

THE DESIGN
